Material and methods. Histological and morphometric studies were performed on the sections of liver of 24 rat of both strains stained with hematoxylin-eosin, Van Gieson, and using Masson method. Results. The differences in the structure of the liver between the rats of different strains were demonstrated. In the liver of SHR rats, the hepatocytes had significantly larger cell and nuclear sizes, higher nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio and proportion of binucleated cells, as compared to those in Wistar rats. Conclusions. Morphological features of hepatocytes from spontaneously hypertensive rats probably reflect the higher level of their metabolic processes than in Wistar rat hepatocytes.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Цель работы - исследовать морфологические особенности гепатоцитов у нормотензивных (Вистар) и спонтанногипертензивных (линия SHR) крыс-самцов. Материал и методы. На препаратах печени 24 крыс обеих линий, окрашенных гематоксилином-эозином, по Ван-Гизону и методом Массона, проводили гистологические и морфометрические исследования. Результаты. Выявлены различия в структуре печени между крысами разных линий. Так, в печени у крыс линии SHR наблюдали достоверно большие размеры гепатоцитов и их ядер, ядерно-цитоплазматическое соотношение, большее количество двуядерных клеток по сравнению с животными линии Вистар. Выводы. Выявленные морфологические особенности гепатоцитов у спонтанно-гипертензивных крыс, вероятно, отражают более высокий уровень метаболических процессов, чем свойственный гепатоцитам крыс линии Вистар.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>hepatocytes</kwd><kwd>morphometry</kwd><kwd>Wistar and SHR rats</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>гепатоциты</kwd><kwd>морфометрия</kwd><kwd>крысы линий Вистар и SHR</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Коржевский Д.
