All scans were divided into groups based on gender, the shape of the sella turcica, and the upper facial index. The linear parameters of the sella turcica and the transverse size of the sphenoid bone body, as well as the upper height and width of the face, were measured. The length and width of the hard palate were measured, and its area was calculated using the formula S=(W*L*π)/2. We calculated cos α using the formula for triangle ABC, where the sides represented the distances between the prostion and the posterior nasal spine, and between the sellar point and the posterior nasal spine.</p> <p>RESULTS: In women, the sella turcica is wider and deeper, while in men, the body of the sphenoid bone is thicker, but the sella turcica is flatter.</p> <p>In Eurians, the sella turcica was deeper, and the anteroposterior size of the sella turcica was smaller than in Mesins and Leptins. In skulls with a flat sella turcica, the upper facial height, palatal width, and palatal area were larger than in skulls with a deep sella turcica.</p> <p>Statistically significant differences were found in the cos α value between skulls with a flat and deep sella turcica.</p> <p>CONCLUSION: The study revealed a direct relationship between the linear dimensions of the sphenoid bone body and the bony structures that make up the maxilla buttresses of the skull. </p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Цель. Можно предположить, что данная особенность связана с перераспределением жевательного давления.</p></trans-abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="zh"><p/></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Sphenoid bone, buttresses of the skull, skull, base of the skull, biomechanics of the skull</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Клиновидная кость, турецкое седло, контрфорсы черепа, череп, основание черепа, механическая устойчивость черепа</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">1.
