His whole life is connected with the Orenburg Medical University (institute – academy – university), where he went through all the steps of the career ladder – assistant (since 1971), associate professor (since 1983), head of the department (from 1988 to 2025), since 2025 – professor of the department. At the same time, from 1993 to 2009, he was vice–rector, and in 2009 he served as rector of the Orenburg Medical Academy. His research interests cover a wide range of issues in comparative and evolutionary histology, embryonic and postnatal morphogenesis, neuroendocrine regulation of morphogenesis and regeneration, and the history of histology. A major contribution to cell biology was his research on the relationship between pro- and eukaryotic cells. He created a new direction at the Orenburg Scientific Histological School dedicated to the study of neuroendocrine regulation of cells, tissues and organs. His pioneering research is aimed at clarifying the issues of neuroendocrine regulation of the relationship between pro- and eukaryotes. He has been harmoniously combining his intensive research activities with teaching at Orenburg Medical University for over 50 years. He has earned the respect and love of several generations of students, teachers, and doctors. Alexander Abramovich is an example of a talented scientist and teacher who inspires and makes you believe in your own strength. Life in histology. On the 80th anniversary of Professor A.A. Stadnikov August 26, 2025 marked the 80th anniversary of the prominent Soviet and Russian histologist, Professor Alexander Abramovich Stadnikov. After graduating from Orenburg Medical Institute in 1968, he planned to work in practical healthcare. And when, after completing his studies at the institute, Professor Zoya Sergeevna Khlystova, head of the Department of Histology, offered him a place in graduate school, he thought for a long time whether he should deal only with theoretical medical issues instead of treating patients. These doubts continued to remain with him for a number of years. And as a graduate student and assistant, he did not break off ties with practical healthcare – for many years he worked as a doctor at an ambulance station, and for a number of years he was the chief physician of the Orenburg Regional student construction team. All his long–term scientific and pedagogical activities are connected with the Orenburg Medical University (institute - academy – university). Since 1971, after completing postgraduate studies, he has worked at the Department of Histology of Orenburg Medical University all the steps of the career ladder – assistant (since 1971), associate professor (since 1983), head of the department (from 1988 to 2025), since 2025 – professor of the department. At the same time, in 1993 – 2009, he was the first vice-rector, and in 2009, for 9 months, he served as rector of the Orenburg Medical University. In 1998, he organized the Laboratory of Functional Cell Morphology at the Institute of Cellular and Intracellular Symbiosis of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and headed it for a decade and a half. In addition, he has been cooperating with the Orenburg branch of the National Medical Research Center "MNTC Eye Microsurgery" named after Academician S.N. Fedorov for several decades. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7] ( figures 1, 2, 3). His research interests are broad and cover a wide range of issues of embryonic and postnatal morphogenesis, comparative and evolutionary morphology, neuroendocrine regulation of morphogenesis and regeneration, and the history of histology. He formulated the idea of the role of neuropeptides of the anterior hypothalamus region as the leading factors of proliferation, growth and differentiation of adenohypophysis epithelial cells. A.A. Stadnikov began to study the problems of neuroendocrinology on the advice of corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.L. Polenov. He developed the concept of the role and significance of nonapeptides of the anterior hypothalamus in the regulation of reparative histogenesis under conditions of various destabilizing effects on the body. A major contribution to cell biology was his research on the relationship between pro- and eukaryotic cells. This area of research arose as a result of joint research by A.A. Stadnikov and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences O.V. Bukharin. At the ultrastructural level, he identified and described the phenomenon of prokaryotic cells "hiding" in the structures of eukaryotic cells, and also established patterns of ultrastructural transformations in the neurosecretory cells of the supraoptic and paraventricular nuclei of the hypothalamus under conditions of endosymbiotic interactions of cells and tissues of the body and prokaryotic cells, formulated patterns of intracellular interactions of prokaryotic cells with the host cell. His pioneering research is aimed at clarifying the issues of neuroendocrine regulation of the relationship between pro- and eukaryotes. He described the antimicrobial effect of oxytocin and carried out a theoretical justification of the expediency of topical oxytocin use in the complex therapy of purulent-necrotic processes. For more than half a century of service to science, he has published over 700 scientific and educational works, including more than 20 monographs. Here is a list of his monographs published over the past 10 years: 1. Beznosik R.V., Beznosik V.N., Stadnikov A.A., Shevlyuk N.N. The role of hypothalamic neurosecretion in the regulation of adaptive and reparative processes of the airways in the conditions of interactions between pro- and eukaryotes. Orenburg: Publishing House of OrGMU. 2015. 156 p.; 2. Bukharin O.V., Stadnikov A.A., Perunova N.B. The role of oxytocin and microbiota in the regulation of pro- and eukaryotic interactions during infection. Yekaterinburg: Publishing House of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. 2018. 247 p.; 3. Volkov D.V., Tarasenko V.S., Stadnikov A.A. Enteral insufficiency syndrome (experimental and clinical study). Orenburg: Publishing house of OrGMU. 2022. 260 p. He presented the results of his research at various conferences in our country and abroad. A.A. Stadnikov is a long–time author of the journal Archive of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology - Morphology. His first article in this journal was published in 1973, and he has published 137 papers in the journal since 1973. His human qualities – integrity and decency, sensitivity to students and colleagues, openness and benevolence, broad erudition in all areas of the biomedical sciences, passion for his favorite science, and the ability to help in difficult situations attracted not only those who wanted to devote their lives to morphology, but also, to a greater extent, clinicians (among the trained There are more than 80 candidates and doctors of sciences, of which 20 are doctors and over 60 candidates, more than half are employees of clinical departments and doctors of medical institutions). He is the leader of the Orenburg Scientific Histological School, the creator of a new direction in the work of this school. He is an ideal supervisor and mentor for his dissertators, caring for and supporting them at all stages of their dissertation work. At the same time, he knows how to develop the initiative and independence of students, many of his students head departments and not only at Orenburg Medical University. The scientists and teachers he brought up work in Russia, as well as in the USA, Tanzania, and Yemen. Doctors trained by him work both in Russia and in many countries around the world. He has been harmoniously combining his intensive research activities with teaching at Orenburg Medical University for over 50 years. Through his teaching, he has earned the great respect and love of several generations of students, teachers, and doctors. Alexander Abramovich's lecturing skills are particularly noteworthy. Lecturing to students and sharing his knowledge generously is his favorite activity. He has been one of the university's best lecturers for many years. Each of his lectures is both a performance (in his youth he participated in the work of the student theater) and a logically constructed conversation. He enjoys live communication with students both in lectures and in practical classes. He knows how to simply state the most difficult things, knows how to captivate the audience. Of the illustrative material, he loved and loves chalk drawings on the blackboard the most. And despite the great progress in creating various types of video equipment, despite the fact that interactive whiteboards have appeared in all classrooms, he does not ignore chalk, although he also skillfully uses the new capabilities of technical devices, if necessary. He reads a lecture only standing up, despite the fashion that has emerged in recent years to sit during a lecture and read from a computer screen. He always arrives at the lecture in advance, starts strictly on time, although he allows late students to attend the lecture. It should be noted that students of Orenburg Medical University are disciplined and lecture halls are never empty or half-empty. He paid great attention to the development of the creative legacy of the founder of the Orenburg Scientific Histological School, corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences Fyodor Mikhailovich Lazarenko. A number of articles, monographs [6, 7, 8], and three All-Russian scientific conferences held in Orenburg (2003, 2008, 2013) are devoted to the life and scientific work of F.M. Lazarenko. All the time he worked at the university, he was actively engaged in public work – for many years he was deputy secretary of the university's party committee in the party organization of the Medical Institute, in the All-Union and All-Russian societies of anatomists, histologists and embryologists, he has been a member of the presidium and vice-president for many years, he is on the editorial boards and editorial boards of a number of morphological journals, in the Higher Attestation Commission From 2003 to 2018, he was a member of the Expert Council on Medical and Pharmacological Sciences at the Ministry of Education and Science. For his outstanding achievements in the education of medical personnel and for his active research activities, he was awarded the honorary titles Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation (1999) and Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (2008). He was awarded the badge "Excellent Healthcare Worker" (2019), awarded Honorary diplomas of the Komsomol Central Committee (1974), the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (1995), the Russian Academy of Sciences (2008), the Orenburg Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2020, 2024). He is a multiple winner of the Orenburg Region Governor's Award in Education (1999) and science and Technology. (2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2014, 2017). Alexander Abramovich is an example of a talented scientist and teacher who inspires and makes his students, colleagues and loved ones believe in their own strength. Although he has not been the head of the department since 2025 due to his advanced age, he continues to be a high scientific and moral authority for all staff of the department. The hero of the day does not reduce creative activity. He celebrates his anniversary full of new scientific ideas and creative ideas. An example of this is his monographs and articles of recent years, his brilliant report at the plenary session of the IX NMOAGE Congress on May 30, 2025. The staff of Orenburg State Medical University sincerely congratulates Alexander Abramovich on his 80th birthday, wishes him good health, new talented students, new creative successes in all his activities, new plans and achievements.
