Abstract

Objective - to study the kinematic parameters of the shoulder joint during normal walking in man. Material and methods. Using the Vicon hardware-software complex for the capture and analysis of movement, 10 selected males with the indicators of the symmetry of the motion of the upper extremities, close to absolute, were examined. Results. Quantitative values of kinematic parameters of movements in the shoulder joint in the cycle of arm transfer during walking were obtained. The flexion-extension and the retraction of the upper limb during the stepping cycle were symmetrical, coinciding with the minimum values of internal rotation only in the middle of the cycle. The hands sway during walking can be conditionally compared with the motion of a pendulum centered in the shoulder joint, with the amplitude of movement equal to 24.6±2.4°. Conclusions. The data obtained have a reference value and allow to perform a comparative analysis of movements of the upper limbs of patients with impaired locomotion of hands, and also to use them in prosthetics and robotics.
