Abstract

Using general histological, electron microscopic, immunocytochemical and morphometric methods, the testes were studied in the representatives of 21 species of various orders of the mammalian class (insectivores, bats, rodents, lagomorphs, and artiodactyls). It was shown that the testes index in the species examined during the period of reproductive activity varied from 0.0005 to 0.001. The peculiarities of the organization of structural components of the blood-testis barrier are presented. Species-related features of the structure of convoluted seminiferous tubules and interstitial tissue of the organ are determined. It was found that the structure of the organ interstitium was more variable as compared to that of the convoluted seminiferous tubules. The morphometric characteristics of convoluted seminiferous tubules and the interstitial tissue in the periods of animal reproductive activity and reproductive quiescence are presented.

NEW DATA ON THE PROJECTION ANATOMY OF THE BRAINSTEM PARTS BASED ON COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY STUDIES

Ishkov S.V., Levoshko L.I.

Abstract

In order to identify differences in the projection anatomy of the brainstem parts, depending on the form of the posterior cranial fossa, a projection analysis of CT scans of 160 patients of both sexes aged 18 to 70 years without skull and the brain pathology was conducted using the developed system of projection lines and bony landmarks. The variants of brainstem part location within the projection planes were determined: the medulla oblongata was located at the level of the plane of the lower margin of the external auditory meatus, the level of the Frankfurt horizontal plane corresponded to the border between the medulla oblongata and the pons, the plane the outer corner of the eye fissure coincided with the pons, the level of the nasion corresponded to the location of the mesencephalon. The spatial arrangement of the brainstem within the posterior cranial fossa, and the projection of its parts to the occipital and temporal region of the head had several variants and depended on the depth of the posterior cranial fossa. The differences demonstrated must be considered during the individual planning of surgical accesses to the posterior fossa structures.

MORPHO-FUNCTIONAL CHANGES OF THE HYPOTHALAMO-HYPOPHYSIAL NEUROSECRETORY SYSTEM IN THE PROCESS OF REPARATIVE OSTEOGENESIS OF LONG TUBULAR BONES

Mikhanov V.A., Polyakova V.S., Shurygina Y.I., Mkhitarian Y.Y., Meshcheryakov K.N., Kozhanova T.G., Bakayeva N.R.

Abstract

The dynamics of structural and functional changes of the neurosecretory cells (NSC) of the hypothalamic supraoptic nuclei and of the neurohypophysis (NH) was examined on 35 Wistar rats at Days 1, 3, 7, 14, 21, 28 and 61 after the fracture of the middle third of the tibial diaphysis. Hypothalamic NSC, NH and the zone of bone fracture were studied using histological, histochemical and morphometric methods. During bone fracture healing, 2 stages of stress-induced activation of the hypothalamohypophyseal neurosecretory system were distinguished: at Days 1-3 (effects of bone fracture on the organism with the development of posttraumatic acute inflammation) and at Days 14-21 (a peak of lytic activity of chondroclasts with massive chondrolysis of cartilage callus). In the initial period of bone repair, hypothalamus and NH demonstrated unidirectional, but asynchronous changes, which were accompanied by «exhaustion» of structural and functional reserves of NH at Day 3, and those of the hypothalamus - at Day 7.

Liskova Y.V., Stadnikov A.A., Salikova S.P.

Abstract

Myocardium of the left ventricle was studied in rats (n=40) of both sexes with an experimental heart failure (HF) using light microscopy, immunocytochemistry and morphometry. The substantial reorganization of the muscular and stromal elements of the myocardium was found in animals with HF. Both remodeling and regenerative capacities of the myocardium in animals with HF demonstrated gender-associated peculiarities. Gender-related distinctions were also found in the expression of Ki-67, caspase 9 and vimentin. The role of the cardioprotective effects of estrogens on the myocardium of the left ventricle as well as the importance of other factors influencing gender-related characteristics of myocardium regeneration in HF, are discussed.

Galeyeva E.N., Ulyanov O.V., Gelashvili P.A., Zheleznov L.M.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to detect the regularities of the formation of the topography of the organs of the lymphoid system of the thoracic cavity during the intermediate fetal period of ontogenesis. 191 human fetuses at the age of 16-22 weeks were examined using the methods of macro-microscopic dissection of saw-cuts according to N. I. Pirogov, the production of histotopograms, the study of projection anatomy, and the description of quantitative topography. It was found that the topography of the thymus was characterized by a clear stable skeletotopy, an expansion of the holotopic boundaries from the sternal to the midclavicular lines and a dynamic syntopy that manifested itself in the relationship with the diaphragmatic nerves, left brachiocephalic vein, heart chambers and large vessels of the mediastinum. The parietal lymph nodes of the chest are located between the inner thoracic vessels, in the projection of the costal-vertebral joints and under the the sympathetic trunk ganglia. At weeks 16-22, the most intensive growth was observed in the lateral pericardial and upper tracheobronchial lymph nodes. All groups of lymph nodes were found to descend by 1-2 thoracic vertebrae by week 22.

THE CHANGES IN THE LUNG STRUCTURE AND MATRIX METALLOPROTEINASE 9 EXPRESSION IN RATS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF OXYTOCIN IN THE COMBINED STRESS

Kozlova A.N.

Abstract

Using light, electron microscopy and immunohistochemistry, the changes in lung structure and matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP 9) expression were studied in 30 rats exposed to combined stress (intratracheal infusion of E. coli in association with emotional painful stress) and oxytocin (OT) injections. Studies have shown that the combined stress resulted in the increased expression of pulmonary MMP-9, accompanied by the activation of neutrophil and macrophage migration with the destruction of cells and intercellular substance in the lung. In animals treated with OT, the expression of MMP 9 was significantly reduced and was associated with lower levels of destructive changes and the infiltration of the lungs by neutrophils and macrophages. The results obtained suggest the pathogenetic role of MMP 9 in combined stress lesions and its involvement in the regulation of MMP 9 expression in the lungs.

ANATOMOMETRIC IN VIVO CHARACTERIZATION OF THE LIVER

Buzina A.M., Fateyev I.N.

Abstract

The description and quantitative analysis of magnetic resonance images (MRI) of normal liver were performed in the study of 329 individuals (163 women and 166 men) aged from 28 to 75 years living in Orenburg. It was established that individual quantitative parameters of the liver formed the regular range where the minimum and maximum values that limit this range were least common. Quantitative parameters of axial MRI of the liver were the greatest in patients with epigastric angle >92º and the least - in individuals with the epigastric angle <88º. Quantification of axial MRI of the liver established the differences of parameter average values in relation to gender. In men, average values of the anteroposterior size of the liver was significantly greater than those in women.

COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY PROJECTION ANATOMY OF THE THORACIC VERTEBRAE IN JUSTIFICATION OF A ACCESS IN MINI-THORACOTOMY IN INDIVIDUALS WITH DIFFERENT SHAPE OF THE THORAX

Lyashchenko S.N., Abramzon O.M., Zaloshkov A.V.

Abstract

The anatomy of projections of the thoracic vertebrae to the lateral and anterior surfaces of the thoracic wall was studied by computed tomography in 120 patients. All patients, according to the form of chest structure, were divided into three groups of dolichomorphic, mesomorphic and brachymorphic individuals. As a result of the study, the projections of the ribs and intercostal spaces on the thoracic vertebrae bodies were obtained. In the representatives of the three groups studied, they differed on the average, by one rib. For each chest line an individual formula was derived. These data are necessary for the precise localization of the mini-thoracotomy level.

Guryanov A.M., Ivlev V.V.

Abstract

Macro-microscopic structure and microtopography of calcaneal tendon were studied on 23 samples. It was found that calcaneal tendon had a regular structural organization characterized by close adhesion of tendon fibers, variable in shape and size, and a specific architectonics of their location. The total number of tendon fibers and the proportion of their different types can change throughout the tendon, which indicates the possibility of their fusion and division. Cellular space located along the anterior surface of the Achilles tendon - pre-calcaneal (Kager’s) fat pad is limited by the sheets of crural own fascia of the leg and an outer layer of paratendinium, internal processes of which divide the adipose tissue into individual lobules.

Mukhammedov K.B., Shevlyuk N.N., Tretyakov A.A., Fadeyev S.B.

Abstract

The peculiarities of reparative histogenesis during the elimination of a rigid residual cavity were studied in the model of chronic pleural empyema (32 rats) using the «LitAr» composite biodegradable hydroxyapatite-collagen material only or in combination with an antibiotic and oxytocin. The site filled with composite material was examined using histological immuno histological methods at Days 3, 7, 14 and 30. LitAr composite in combination with an antibiotic and oxytocin stimulated vasculogenesis, proliferation and cytodifferentiation of the cellular elements of the fibroblastic cell line, the synthesis of components of the extracellular matrix, which led to the formation of a loose irregular connective tissue by Day 14 day of the experiment in the place of the cavity. The administration of oxytocin led to prolongation of the undifferentiated state of connective tissue in a region of the implanted.
